This is a simple chat room and is meant for general chat about Torfaen County Borough Council; discussing policies; complaining, gaining support for good causes, announcing meetings, asking questions etc etc, anything of interest.
By popular request we now have registration, Unregistered Users (Guests) can still use the chatroom but their contributions will be checked first.
If you are a Registered User your entries will appear immediately, you are then agreeing to accept responsibity for what you say
If you are a Guest then you can still use the chatroom but you have to guess the simple password (which we need to protect us from spam) and your comments will only appear after they have been checked by us. This may take more or less time depending on what I am involved with at the time! IP addresses are recorded.

You will still be able to choose a nickname, and change it from time to time, but "flipping" (pretending to be two or more people in the same conversation) is discouraged, as is the same sort of thing between two colleagues.
We will endevour to keep identities confidential but we will co-operate in the event of legal proceedings, in order to protect ourselves against litigation for what others have said.
