At last nights Full Council, I was officially confirmed as the Leader of the Independent Group which is the largest opposition group.  This commands an extra allowance of over £8,000 per year.

At last nights meeting, I officially confirmed my stance on accepting that payment and made the following statement.

"In relation to point 4.4, I would like to re-confirm the Independent Groups commitment to reducing the number of Special Responsibility Allowances so, I will not be claiming or accepting the SRA that is provided with the position of Leader of the largest opposition group. The relevant Officers have already been notified of this decision"
