I would think it obvious - of course it is, and thank God...otherwise we
would be led by a disjointed and inexperienced band who treat the
Council Chamber as a theatre and as such,  if they have failed to hold
themselves together what chance would they have had of holding together
the business of running a council...God forbid !

There are those who are as paranoid as they are deluded in the imaginary
belief that clandestine conversations and deals were cobbled up prior to
the election...and I can cheerfully anounce that this is claptrap...but
that is their problem not mine, since it seems to be occupying their
every paranoid living minute.

For any naive contributors of your blog it is quite simple - as a
youngster I was a fully paid up member of Plaid and still wholly support
their ideals, later on in life I joined Labour...as a former Labour
Councillor I had some personal issues with several members of the Labour
Party, whom are no longer there and save for one or two I am quite happy
with the way things are being run . I suppose I could re-join either
party but feel more in control as an Independant.

So when I had to make a decision on to, for want of a better word,
"side" with whom do you think I was going to side with...the Tories,
Liberals or a doomed band of poorly organised independants who have
since fallen apart at the seams, proving my initial predictions
correct...and still falling apart under a cloud as you will soon see...
I might as well have joined the Martian Party...which incidentally may
have more of a future.

You are quite correct that the word "Coalition" was published on the
website ( which if it pleases and means that much to you I could put
back ....) however in an effort to free up your imagination as to why I
replaced it with the word "Liason" - pop this in your mental microwave
and stick it on defrost for a couple of seconds...... it was simply
because of the farcical collapse of the "coalition" ...and I did not
want anyone assuming that I had been part of a doomed Opposition Group
Coalition... which as I predicted turned out to be a catastrophic
failure which you seem content to revel in...hence I want to detatch
myself from any link with the word, or them.

Ultimately I am reasonably happy at the way the Council is being run, I
have confidence in the work the officers do - and that of some of my
council colleagues.

I am not confident or remotely interested at those personnel whom appear
to be fuelled with political paranoia and who repeatedly criticise and
trawl over constitutional technicalities and/or  who consistently
criticise and undermine the work or moral of officers and other
councillors - my sights are set a little higher on actually trying to
assist the running of a Council which I feel is being done in difficult
times and conditions.

Hope that this clarifies matters for the thousands of your contributors.

Thanks

Alastair
